The Autumn midterm officially kicks off tomorrow afternoon when the kiddos are released from school (doesn’t it feel like they just went back after summer holidays last week?!).
With the arrival of the Halloween break, comes the realisation: “What are we going to for a full nine days without school?”.
Well, fear not!
There are plenty of events taking place over the week that are sure not only to keep the kids entertained but also be fun for the entire family.
Halloween at Dublinia
If you’ve never been to Dublinia, you’re certainly in for a treat. This immersive non-for-profit heritage centre is focused on Medieval Dublin and Viking history and is great fun for the whole family - grown-ups will probably learn a thing or two they don’t know!
This Halloween, the Delig Inis theatre group will perform their annual show about the supernatural and spooky stories of Medieval Dublin. Catch a performance between 11 am - 1 pm and 2 pm - 3.30 pm from Saturday 27th - Monday 29th October!
How to get there? Simply hop on the 15 bus from Clongriffin and Dublinia is just a short stroll from the George’s Street stop. For more info and to book tickets check out www.dublinia.ie.
Bram Stoker Festival
What better time to honour Dublin’s very own Bram Stoker than Halloween? The Bram Stoker Festival runs over the October Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 26th - Monday 29th.
There’s Stokerland, a Victorian pop-up park that’s perfect for the entire family, a painting workshop for ages 8 plus in the EPIC Museum right beside Connolly Station and not to forget, the now annual Macnas Halloween Parade on Monday 29th!
Check out the festival website for a full schedule of events
Creepy Town @ The Helix
The Helix is hosting a Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October. The panto-style performance will run four times throughout the day and is designed for kids of all ages, with less fright and more fun!
Peril’s Pumpkin Trail
Peril’s Pumpkin Trail is just a short journey from Clongriffin if you hop on the Dart at Station Square to Malahide.
This fancy dress event runs every half hour from 12 pm, Saturday 27th - Wednesday 31st. Final entrance is at 6 pm.
The trail is ideal for younger kids, focusing more on excitement and magic than scares. It takes approximately 1 hour to complete and is a great reason to get outdoors in the fresh air!
And of course, we couldn’t forget our very own Halloween Party here in Clongriffin Town! This is a fantastic party for the entire community and includes face painting, spooky storyteller, arts and crafts, traditional Halloween games, and some delicious treats! We’d like to thank those who have helped organise this annual event for all their hard work.
The party kicks off at 2 pm in Clongriffin Junction and we hope to see you there! And in the meantime, don’t forget to keep in touch with us via our Facebook page.
