Alongside our neighbours and friends here in Clongriffin Town, we are concerned that our local DART service has come under an unprovoked attack. Clongriffin DART Station was the foundation stone of our new town and continues to be a central part of our town’s daily life. We take pride in seeing our train station being used and enjoyed daily by thousands of our residents and visitors, every day. We are deeply disappointed that gangs of youths targeted Clongriffin DART Station to attack a train, as it is one of the largest and most modern DART Stations with wide and well-lit platforms.
At Clongriffin Town, we take pride in having a safe and family friendly environment for people to live, work and visit. We have recently upgraded our CCTV security system and we are working closely with local Gardai to trace the two gangs as they fled the town in different directions.
Following the recent “planned and organised graffiti attack” we look forward to engaging with Irish Rail to review and improve the current security within the Train Station itself. We will continue in our efforts to keep Clongriffin a safe and family friendly environment and going forward, our Town Security team and daytime caretakers will aid and assist Irish Rail whenever possible.
